Basics / LESSON 06
Inspin
Add same-direction shaft turns while the hand travels around, producing longer curved paths between familiar inward-end positions.
Prerequisites: Antispin

Steps
Before you begin
- Grip
- Hold near the staff center and keep track of the thumb-side and pinky-side ends.
- Stance
- Stand comfortably facing the practice plane. Drex keeps his feet planted while his shoulders and elbows accommodate the movement; exact foot width is not prescribed.
- Plane
- Wall plane in the breakdown; the reference turns side-on for split-same.
Things to notice
- Taking the short counterrotating route, which produces antispin instead.
- Keeping the same inward-pointing end at every compass position, which removes the extra staff rotation.
- Changing hand timing while forgetting to retain each staff’s same-direction relationship to its own hand.
